To effectively use the Assessment & Evaluation module, a staff:admin or medtech:admin user will need to configure assessment response categories in . Assessment response categories are the terms available when users build items or create scales to apply to rubric items in the Assessment & Evaluation module. Some examples are low performance, medium performance, and high performance, or needs improvement, meets expectations, and exceeds expectations.
Note that assessment characteristics (also in System Settings), are used in the the Gradebook module to define assessment types like written exam, test, quiz, project, etc. You do not need to build a list of assessment characteristics to use the Assessment & Evaluation module.
